RadioNZ to interview Vint Cerf – tune in!

Next week, IPv6 cheerleader Vint Cerf will be interviewed by Radio New Zealand  about the battle for control of the net and why he believes the issue of state sovereignty is at the core of the Internet’s problems.

To listen, tune into RNZ’s Nine to Noon programme on Tuesday 7 August at 9.05am.

Cerf is an American computer scientist and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google Inc. Radio New Zealand notes his designation as one of the “Fathers of the Internet” for his work in the 1970s with Robert Kahn designing TCP/IP – the protocol that allows computers and networks to talk to one another.

“He has collected a slew of awards since then, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the A. M. Turing Award – widely considered to be the computing field’s equivalent of the Nobel Prize”.
